Love doesn’t make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile!!!
Known Darshita since college, she and me had this amazing connection of laughing like mad people. If we ever cracked a joke people around us would run away because we were that loud. When she told me she wants me to cover her wedding, I was too overwhelmed. It was great catching up with her and Dev as she had moved away to San Francisco for further studies.
The moment I would forget of what she told me right before her wedding that, “When I was with her she had nothing to worry about”.
Enough about me now lets get to know the bride and the groom
A little about the couple (how did you’ll meet and what do you’ll do)
We got introduced to each other through a common friend. At that time, Dev was working and living in the big city of New York and I lived all the way across the country in San Francisco. I traveled a lot for work at that time and during one of those work trips to New York, Dev and I decided to grab a coffee together. Dev asked me out again after the first coffee and the rest is history.
A bit about your events, which one was the most fun? Any vivid memory you recollect about the two of you’ll?
Guh, tough question. There are so many! I will share two. The first one was seeing Dev dance his heart out on the dance floor on the Mehendi and Cocktail night. He’s not a “dancer” per se and was probably unfamiliar with 80% of the Bollywood songs that were played that night but he sure can shake to the beats. I could tell he was happy that night and I love seeing him happy. A second favorite memory was the entire wedding morning/ceremony. Everything just felt surreal—from the time I left home with my family to getting dressed for the ceremony to walking down the aisle and finally exchanging vows. The excitement, giggles and chills were unreal and that’s something I will always remember for the rest of my life.
Where did you’ll get married? Any factors/ considerations you’ll kept in mind while choosing the venue?
India! I have been in the U.S. for almost a decade now but my roots and heart still belongs to Mumbai. Dev is first generation Indian American. He was born and brought up in the U.S. but a majority of his extended family resides in India. And it goes without saying that we wanted to celebrate with all our family and friends with us. Sangeet and Cocktail was held at Pathare Prabhu in Andheri. I cannot recommend this place enough—great food, great service and just great people to work with! The Sangeet was held at Andheri Recreation Club. The wedding and reception was held at Novotel Juhu. It was a stunning location. Beach and palm trees—say no more. We were sold.
